Kimberly Stokka Merendino
Founder, CEO, Board Member
Kim Merendino has worked with young children and their families for the past 20+ years. She currently owns a private practice, Barnemat Consulting, where she specializes in working with young children, typically 0- 8 years, in high conflict relationships. Dr. Merendino is an approved supervisor through the Association of Play Therapy and the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. Over the course of her career, Dr. Merendino has worked at the local, state, national, and international level supporting children and their families. She received her B.S. degree from Westmont College, her M.A. degree from Denver Seminary and in 2008, her Ph.D. from the University of Denver.
Dr. Merendino has received a divine appointment to build Kyle’s Mountain House. It is her heart’s desire to create a space for children and families who are encountering very difficult life circumstances. Dr. Merendino believers her training as a death doula, experience in working with children and families in crisis, and desire to make dreams come true is the trifecta for a state of the art palliative care facility for individuals and their families from birth through age 30. While she does not have a medically complex child or one needing end of life care, she believes that she was divinely chosen to create this space. Like Kyle, she doesn’t take no for an answer and is passionate about accepting the miracles that will make this dream a reality.
